In honor of the Heroes of Kruty, hackers from GUR targeted the services of Gazprom and Gazprom Neft, according to a source.

Cyber specialists from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense targeted the infrastructure of Russian companies "Gazprom" and "Gazpromneft." The operation was dedicated to the memory of the heroes of Kruty.

According to the RBK-Ukraine source, in commemoration of the heroism of the Kruty defenders, the cyber group of the Main Intelligence Directorate carried out a DDoS attack on the digital infrastructure of Russian companies "Gazprom" and "Gazpromneft." Specifically, online services of these companies that support the operations of the Russian occupation army were targeted.

Since January 28, clients of these companies have been unable to access their personal accounts, use the online services, make fuel payments with fuel cards, redeem or accumulate bonuses, and so on.

In response to customer complaints, representatives of "Gazprom" stated that there is a "temporary technical failure," but did not explain the reasons or the nature of the "weapon."

Russian companies have not disclosed when the online services might be restored.

"Today's problems for Russian drivers are a greeting from our brothers from 1918, the heroes of the battle at Kruty, who over a hundred years ago repelled the criminal Russian gangs of the drug addict Muravyov. Today we continue the work of the defenders of Kyiv from back then, both on the front lines and in cyberspace. Glory to Ukraine!" - commented the event in the GUR.

Other GUR Cyber Attacks

Recall that in the summer of 2024, the GUR carried out a large-scale cyber attack on the financial sector of Russia. The attack lasted a week, hitting Russian banks and government resources of the Russian Federation.

Also, on the birthday of the head of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense, Kyrylo Budanov, the cyber group of Ukrainian intelligence attacked the Russian company "RegionTransService." This company supports the operation of the Russian railway.
