Ukrainian forces repelled a Russian assault near Velyka Novosilka (video).

The occupiers attempted to launch an assault near Velyka Novosilka. However, yet another attack by the Russian Federation in the Pokrovsk direction failed.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Facebook of the 110th named after General Khourunzhy Mark Bezruchko.

"In the Pokrovsk direction, defenders repelled an enemy assault near Velyka Novosilka," the message states.

The occupiers attempted to conduct the assault using armored vehicles, deploying a tank and two infantry fighting vehicles for the attack.

"However, thanks to the precise work of our artillery and FPV drones, all enemy armored vehicles were halted and destroyed. Another Russian offensive has failed," the 110th brigade confirmed.

Fighting for Velyka Novosilka

Velyka Novosilka is a settlement in the Volnovakha district of Donetsk region, Ukraine. It serves as the administrative center of the Velykonovosilkivka settlement hromada.

Back in late January, Russia claimed to have "fully occupied" Velyka Novosilka in Donetsk region. This was denied by the OSHV "Khortytsia," which noted that Ukrainian forces are holding certain lines closer to the outskirts of the settlement and fighting in the area continues.

Recently, Ukrainian military officials reported that fighting is currently taking place in the vicinity of Velyka Novosilka. The occupiers have not achieved success in their attacks.
