For several months now, the Pokrovsk direction has remained one of the most challenging in the context of the confrontation with Russian occupiers. Russian losses there have consistently been high.
As reported by RBK-Ukraine, this was stated by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, on his Facebook.
"We are calculating and preparing for all possible options for the enemy's further actions. I am grateful to the military personnel for their effective combat work," Syrskyi wrote.
According to Syrskyi, the losses of Russian occupiers at the Pokrovsk direction remain consistently high, especially in terms of personnel. In particular, in December, the enemy is confirmed to lose around 400 killed and wounded daily on average.
It was previously reported that Russian troops are located about 11 km from the city, prompting local authorities to call for the evacuation of residents. According to military sources, more than 70,000 Russian soldiers are concentrated in this direction. President Zelensky had earlier stated about the additional strengthening of defenses in this area.
At the same time, media reports suggest that Russian forces are preparing to advance on Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region. This operation could be the culmination of the Russian offensive operation in this direction.
Earlier, Syrskyi noted that fierce battles continue in the Pokrovsk direction. The Russians have an advantage in personnel and are employing unconventional tactics.
