The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, will appoint a new Prime Minister on Friday, December 13. It was previously reported that he planned to do so today.
This information comes from RBK-Ukraine citing BFMTV.
The Élysée Palace announced that the new Prime Minister will be appointed on the morning of December 13.
"A press release regarding the Prime Minister's appointment will be published tomorrow morning," stated Macron's administration.
Recall that on December 4, the National Assembly passed a vote of no confidence in the government of Michel Barnier, who was still serving as Prime Minister at that time. This decision led to the resignation of all ministers.
In France, the president has the authority to appoint the head of government. Meanwhile, the National Assembly can issue a vote of no confidence against the government at any moment.
Therefore, French leader Emmanuel Macron is searching for a new candidate for the Prime Minister position who will satisfy the majority of parliamentarians.
On December 10, Macron promised that he would appoint a new Prime Minister within 48 hours.
Yesterday, media reported that the French president would appoint the Prime Minister on Thursday, December 12. However, that did not happen.
