The Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó spoke with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. The conversation focused on Ukraine.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.
Szijjártó expressed to his Russian counterpart that the Hungarian proposal for a temporary ceasefire on the "Ukrainian front" and a large-scale prisoner exchange was allegedly rejected by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
In turn, Lavrov began to explain that this is far from the first instance where "initiatives from genuinely peace-seeking states," which are humanitarian in nature and aimed at organizing uninterrupted food supplies across the Black Sea and ensuring the safety of nuclear power plants, are dismissed by Kyiv.
"The ministers agreed to continue a close, trusting dialogue on various aspects of the Ukrainian crisis, taking into account the assessments and ideas expressed by different states," the Russian Foreign Ministry stated.
It is noteworthy that yesterday, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban had a phone conversation with the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin,
In a separate article by RBK-Ukraine, you can find out how Zelensky reacted to Orban's initiative to call the Russian dictator.
It is important to note that following the reaction from the Ukrainian president regarding this conversation, Orban cynically responded, claiming that he is supposedly making efforts for peace in Ukraine.
