For two months, Russian occupiers attempted a frontal assault on Pokrovsk and suffered significant losses. Now, the enemy is starting to change their tactics.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing a statement from the head of the press service of the 14th Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine "Chervona Kalyna," Mykola Koval, during a telethon.
According to him, Russia is sending its soldiers "for disposal" around the clock in the Pokrovsk area. Ukrainian defenders are repelling dozens of assaults, destroying the occupiers.
"This is just our brigade. If we consider everyone together, they incur colossal losses every day. This does not stop them. They can recover from these losses. As soon as one group enters, we destroy it and repel the assault. Immediately after, another group comes in," Koval specified.
He noted that the Russians are trying every possible way to enter Pokrovsk.
"For two months, they attacked only head-on and suffered significant losses. Now they realize that it’s not working, and they are starting to attempt to break through our defenses either from the left or right flank. As you can see, we are holding the enemy back as much as possible, as Pokrovsk is a strategically important city," Koval explained.
Let us remind you that earlier, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, noted that the situation around Pokrovsk remains complicated.
The general emphasized that Ukraine is preparing for all possible scenarios.
At the same time, according to him, in December, the enemy is losing an average of about 400 personnel killed and wounded in the Pokrovsk direction.
