Сенатор Грэм предлагает план ускоренного вступления Украины в НАТО, чтобы оказать давление на Путина.

As of now, Ukraine will not be accepted into NATO. However, in the event of another attack by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, the country could join NATO very quickly.

This was stated by Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, as reported by RBK-Ukraine citing a panel discussion in Munich.

He emphasized the need to send a signal to Putin before he considers taking any action.

"If we take Ukraine into NATO, Putin will just go crazy. He is already crazy, I think. We are talking about scaring him so that he thinks twice before doing anything. If you do something, we will destroy your economy and tear your country apart with sanctions," Graham said.

He noted that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky "has teeth." In other words, if the country is armed, then the Russian dictator is destined for defeat.

"If we provide F-16s, ATACMS, and tanks, the Ukrainians will fight. Let's arm the President of Ukraine, let’s sign a minerals agreement, and Putin will lose," the senator declared.

He also pointed out that the situation with Russia's war against Ukraine should not end poorly, as it did in Afghanistan. He is confident that U.S. President Donald Trump will not allow this.

Recall that today, during the Munich Security Conference, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the U.S. has never seen or wanted to see Ukraine in NATO. According to him, this position is not only Trump's but reflects the overall policy of the United States.

Zelensky also noted that the U.S. is not ready to discuss Ukraine's integration into the Alliance, as they believe that this issue allegedly became the reason for Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
