In just one day, Russia lost around 1,700 soldiers and three air defense systems, according to the General Staff.
During the day from January 19 to 20, the Russian aggressor's army lost 1,690 soldiers on the front, along with 19 artillery systems and 153 drones.
This information is reported by RBK-Ukraine citing data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The total combat losses of the enemy from February 24, 2022, to January 20, 2025, are estimated as follows:
- personnel - approximately 820,430 (+1,690) eliminated;
- tanks - 9,821 (+10) units;
- armored fighting vehicles - 20,454 (+42) units;
- artillery systems - 22,074 (+19) units;
- MLRS - 1,262 units;
- air defense systems - 1,049 (+3) units;
- aircraft - 369 units;
- helicopters - 331 units;
- operational-tactical level UAVs - 22,768 (+153) units;
- cruise missiles - 3,051 units;
- ships/boats - 28 units;
- submarines - 1 unit;
- automotive equipment and fuel tankers - 34,488 (+87) units;
- special equipment - 3,706 (+6) units.
Situation on the Front and Russian Attacks
According to ISW, the Defense Forces have regained control over lost positions near Chasiv Yar and Toretsk. However, the Russians are applying pressure and advancing in multiple directions simultaneously.
On the evening of January 19, terrorists struck the village of Zolochiv near Kharkiv with a guided aerial bomb. As a result of the attack, a child was injured.
Throughout the night, Ukraine was again attacked by Shahed strike drones. Closer to morning, air defense forces eliminated all enemy targets.
