The resolution of the Ukraine issue is not merely a matter of right or wrong. It represents a pivotal moment for Europe's security that occurs "once in a generation."
This was stated by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, as reported by RBK-Ukraine citing The Guardian.
Opening the summit currently taking place in London, Starmer, alongside French President Emmanuel Macron and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, acknowledged the warm welcome extended to the Ukrainian leader upon his arrival.
"We are all with you, with Ukraine, for as long as it takes," he remarked.
However, he cautioned that "this is a moment that occurs once in a generation for Europe's security," emphasizing that "a good resolution for Ukraine is not just a matter of right or wrong, but is vital for the security of every nation here and many others."
Starmer noted that he intends to work on a plan for Ukraine, so they can "discuss it with the U.S. and move forward together."
At the same time, he highlighted that today's summit would focus on how countries can work together to ensure a fair, sustainable peace in Ukraine and how to support Ukraine.
"Even when Russia speaks of peace, it continues its relentless aggression," the Prime Minister pointed out.
