The Prime Minister of the Netherlands announced when discussions on Ukraine's security will resume.

European leaders will continue their discussions on Ukraine's security during their upcoming meeting, which is set to take place next week.
Премьер-министр Нидерландов сообщил, когда возобновятся переговоры по вопросам безопасности Украины.

European leaders will continue discussions regarding Ukraine's security during their upcoming meeting, scheduled for next week.

This information comes from RBK-Ukraine, citing a statement by Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte.

"The security of Ukraine is in the interest of all of Europe, and therefore the Netherlands as well. A united Europe is more crucial than ever. We must play a significant role in ensuring safety on our continent," Rutte emphasized.

He noted that there are several important aspects to consider:

  • unwavering support for Ukraine, enabling it to negotiate from a position of strength and thus achieve lasting peace.
  • a European plan for reliable security guarantees to protect our continent - including Ukraine - and deter further Russian aggression.
  • Europe must take on greater responsibility for its own security, including strengthening European defense.

"Strong transatlantic relations are also essential here," the Prime Minister remarked.

He added that he was pleased to attend the summit of European leaders in London and to discuss this matter with colleagues from the EU and beyond.

"We must do this together. Next Thursday, we will continue the conversation in Brussels at an extraordinary meeting of the European Council," he concluded.

Recall that today in London, a summit of European leaders took place, and the key topic of the meeting was Ukraine.

Following the summit, the UK announced that it would take important steps to assist Ukraine, which include economic sanctions and pressure on Russia.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer confirmed plans to form a "coalition of the willing" to ensure any peace agreement in Ukraine.

Additionally, during a press conference held after the summit, Starmer announced a new agreement to support Ukraine.

He stated that the agreement would allow Ukraine to utilize £1.6 billion of UK export financing to procure an additional 5,000 missiles for air defense.
