There is currently no plan from the newly elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, to end the war between Russia and Ukraine. Ukrainian authorities have certainly not seen it yet.
This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine referencing an interview with Andriy Yermak, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, conducted by journalist Vadym Karpyak.
"To clarify: there is no plan in existence at this time. And we certainly have not seen this plan yet. We know that there are several opinions, various positions, and they are being discussed," Yermak stated.
The head of the Office of the President noted that during his meetings with American officials in the U.S., he was listened to, the politicians were interested, they asked questions, and sought more information.
"I believe the main thing for us right now is to provide this information, explain our position, and give historical examples of why simply ceasing fire is not a result or an achievement for us," Yermak added.
Recall that during his election campaign, Donald Trump repeatedly claimed that he could end the war between Russia and Ukraine within 24 hours.
Recently, during a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on December 7, Trump emphasized the need for an immediate ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.
According to Reuters, Trump has three main options on the table for ending the war. These include plans from Special Representative for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, the elected Vice President of the United States, J.D. Vance, and former Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell. All of them propose, in one form or another, a freeze of the war along the current line of demarcation.
