Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine using dozens of drones during the night of November 29. Air defense systems shot down more than half of the deployed unmanned aerial vehicles.
This information comes from RBK-Ukraine, citing the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian Air Force.
"On the night of November 29, the enemy attacked Ukraine with 132 strike drones of the 'Shahed' type and unidentified drones from the directions of Orël, Millerovo, Kursk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk," the report states.
To counter the attack, aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare systems, and mobile fire groups from the Air Forces and Defense Forces of Ukraine were engaged.
"As of 09:00, the air defense has shot down 88 enemy drones in the Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava, Zhytomyr, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, and Odesa regions," noted the Air Forces.
Additionally, 41 drones were locally lost, likely due to active electronic warfare countermeasures by the Defense Forces, and one drone returned to Russia.
As a result of the Russian assault, infrastructure, vehicles, private homes, and apartment buildings were damaged in several regions of Ukraine, and assistance is being provided to the affected individuals.
