A Russian agent who targeted defense factories in Kharkiv with missile guidance has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.

An agent of the Russian FSB has been sentenced to 15 years in prison. He was preparing a series of airstrikes on the strategic infrastructure of Kharkiv.

This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine.

According to the investigation materials, the enemy accomplice turned out to be an employee of a local pharmaceutical company. Under the guise of business trips, the agent collected information on military sites, including defense enterprises, and "cross-referenced" their coordinates with locations on Google Maps.

The counterintelligence of the SBU exposed the individual and apprehended him during a special operation in the regional center in September 2023. During a search of his home and vehicle, mobile phones containing schematics of potential targets he attempted to relay to the FSB were seized.

According to the investigation, the convicted agent came to the attention of the occupiers as an ideological supporter of Russian imperialism, which he repeatedly expressed on Russian social media.

After recruitment, the agent utilized a concealed communication channel with the FSB through anonymous chats in messengers registered with phone numbers from foreign operators.

Based on the materials from the Security Service, the court found the offender guilty under part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed under martial law).

Sentences for Russian Agents

We remind you that earlier we reported that three Russian agents were sentenced to 13 years in prison with confiscation of property. They adjusted Russian missile strikes on the airfield in Ivano-Frankivsk region.

Additionally, a Russian military intelligence (GRU) agent was sentenced to 15 years in prison. He was spying at a defense plant in Kyiv.

A Russian agent who spied on the Ukrainian Defense Forces and prepared an enemy strike on the headquarters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Sumy region was also sentenced to the same term.
