Sources suggest that Trump's potential peace plan for Ukraine involves a pause in NATO actions and a freeze on the ongoing conflict.

Today, only two parameters are emerging that the team of newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump may use in future negotiations to end the full-scale war in Ukraine.
НАТО приостановлено, конфликт заморожен – источники о возможном мирном плане Трампа для Украины.

Today, two key parameters are emerging that the team of newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump may consider when negotiating an end to the full-scale war in Ukraine.

Sources from RBK-Ukraine discuss this in the article "A New Era: What to Expect for Ukraine After Trump's Inauguration and Will Peace Talks Begin".

As the sources explain, the first parameter will pertain to Ukraine's NATO membership. This issue will be taken off the agenda and "put in a drawer," but not "thrown in the trash."

The second parameter will relate to freezing hostilities along the line that will de facto exist on the battlefield at that time. In Kyiv, this scenario is viewed negatively, as it does not address the issue of Russian aggression and the restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity. As demonstrated by the experience of ATO/OOS in Donbas, any freeze can turn into active combat.

Russia's Readiness and an Alternative Scenario

In many discussions regarding "Trump's actions towards Ukraine," a crucial aspect is often overlooked - the readiness of the aggressor state to end military actions. Currently, there is no such readiness. Russian occupiers continue offensive operations in the Donbas region and apparently have no plans to stop of their own accord.

Despite Kyiv's hopes that the war could conclude by 2025, work is simultaneously underway on another scenario, which focuses on strengthening the defense capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and ensuring preparedness for a possible continuation of the war. These tasks will remain relevant during Donald Trump's presidency.

Ending the War in Ukraine

Recently, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated that the Joe Biden administration is preparing for Trump a as strong a position on Ukraine as possible.

Meanwhile, Republican national security advisor Mike Waltz believes that the war will end through diplomatic means, but first a ceasefire must be achieved. At the same time, Pentagon head nominee Pete Gegset stated that the Trump administration will strive for the most favorable outcome for Kyiv in ending the war.
