The Supervisory Board of the Defense Procurement Agency (DPA) has unanimously decided to extend the contract of the current director, Marina Bezrukova, for another year.

This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing a statement from the DPA's press service.

It is noted that the members of the Supervisory Board also voted unanimously to initiate a comprehensive audit of the Agency's activities, involving an international council of NATO auditors.

According to the DPA, this audit should cover:

  • evaluation of financial reporting;

  • analysis of management and operational processes;

  • verification of the enterprise's compliance with international standards, including HATO standards;

  • examination of adherence to principles of transparency and accountability.

They also promised to provide all necessary documentation and assist in conducting the comprehensive audit.

"We are grateful to the Supervisory Board for its subjectivity, unanimity, trust, and support in reforming defense procurement," the note states.

As of January 1, 2024, the DPA became the sole organization within the Ministry of Defense responsible for procuring weapons and military equipment for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On January 8, 2025, it reported that in 2024, the Agency reduced or at least maintained average prices on critical ammunition categories, specifically:

  • for 155 mm shells - by 15%;

  • for 152 mm - by 23%;

  • for 125 mm - by 16%.

This has allowed for savings of billions of hryvnias, which were redirected to the procurement of additional weapons for the Armed Forces.

Bezrukova was appointed as the director of the DPA at the end of January last year. Prior to this, from January 2017, she worked at NEC Ukrenergo in positions as a board member and supply chain management director.

She also has over 20 years of experience in supply chain management and developing partnerships with foreign companies, particularly in the USA, Canada, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
