Ukrainian instructors in basic military training will have the opportunity to study in Lithuania in 2025.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The corresponding agreement was reached during a meeting between the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Brigadier General of Justice Serhiy Melnyk, and the international advisor on professional military education of the Republic of Lithuania, Stasys Palduanas.
It is noted that the first stage of training will involve a group of 30 Ukrainian instructors, who, after completing their courses in Lithuania, will be able to implement modern NATO methodologies and approaches in training centers across Ukraine.
"Improving military education and combat training is one of the key tasks for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We are grateful to our partners for their support, which enables us to integrate modern NATO standards into our training system," Melnyk stated.
Additionally, during the meeting, the prospects for updating combat shooting training programs were discussed.
It has been reported that in 2025, a pilot project is planned to be launched at two Ukrainian educational institutions with the assistance of NATO. The project aims to create modern courses for combat shooting instructors that will meet Alliance standards.
Ukrainian military personnel are undergoing extensive training exercises in various countries worldwide with the support of NATO and European Union partners. This enhances their skills, helps them adapt to the standards of Western armies, and enables them to effectively utilize modern technology.
Such programs are crucial for improving Ukraine's defense capabilities and ensuring the integration of its army into the European collective security system.
Previously, we reported that more than 12,000 Ukrainian military personnel have undergone military training under NATO programs.
Furthermore, the UK has stated its intention to send its instructors to Ukraine to train the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
