North Korea's involvement in the war against Ukraine aims to provide its military with combat experience, as the conflict "could spread from Europe to the Asian continent."
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing statements from Ukraine's representative, Sergey Kyslytsia, at a UN Security Council meeting.
According to him, the Pyongyang regime is not merely sending its soldiers to Russia; it has its own interests and objectives.
"These North Korean soldiers, especially the officers who survive the war, will return to their country with exceptional experience in modern warfare. The question is how exactly North Korea will utilize these experienced soldiers. And we all know the answer. We understand that the war could spread from Europe to the Asian continent. That is why these soldiers have arrived in Russia," Kyslytsia stated.
Let us remind you that the UN Security Council convened to discuss the deployment of North Korean military personnel on the front lines in Ukraine.
According to the head of the GUR, Kyrylo Budanov, North Korean troops are set to begin fighting against Ukraine in November.
It was previously reported that 1,500 North Korean special forces soldiers are currently in Vladivostok.
Today, the Financial Times reported that 3,000 North Korean troops have already arrived in the Kursk region. They are located approximately 50 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.
In the United States, it was stated that the potential involvement of North Korean troops in Russia's war against Ukraine could lead to new forms of support for Kyiv from Western partners.
