The EU's chief diplomat, Kaja Kallas, responded to the speech by U.S. Vice President JD Vance at the Munich Security Conference. According to her, the U.S. is "trying to create discord" with Europe.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing The Guardian.
She stated that it seems as if Washington is "trying to start a quarrel" with Europe.
"Listening to this speech, they are trying to pick a fight with us, and we do not want to fight with our friends," she noted.
Kallas added that allies should focus on more serious threats, such as Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
On February 14, U.S. Vice President JD Vance spoke at the Munich Security Conference 2025. In his address, he indirectly mentioned Ukraine, primarily focusing on criticism of European partners.
Specifically, he stated that the Donald Trump administration is concerned about European security, while Europe allegedly does not share the same democratic values as the U.S.
More detailed information about Vance's statements in Munich can be found in the article by RBK-Ukraine.
