The GUR revealed details about the scouts who were the first to bring the war onto Russian territory.

The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine honored the memory of the reconnaissance saboteurs who were among the first to bring the war to enemy territory. A group of scouts conducted a deep raid in areas controlled by the enemy on December 25, 2022.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine paid tribute to the scouts of the "Brotherhood" unit from the "Timur Special Unit" of the GUR MO of Ukraine who died while carrying out a combat mission.

The statement mentions Maksym "Nepiypivo" Mikhailov, Taras "Tarasiy" Karpyuk, Yuriy "Svyatosha" Horovets, and Bohdan "Apollo" Lyahov, who heroically faced the enemy on Christmas night in 2022.

"Maidan activists, patriots, true heroes of the war for the freedom of the Ukrainian nation, educated, creative, proud armed men. Their stories and contributions to the common cause of fighting for Ukraine will serve as a guide for all subsequent generations of defenders of our freedom and statehood," the statement reads.

The GUR reports that on December 25, 2022, a group of scouts carried out a deep raid in enemy-controlled territory. When confronted by Russian troops, four scouts refused to surrender and fought to the last.

"Eternal glory and honor to the scouts who fell in the war for the freedom of the Ukrainian nation!" the intelligence agency emphasizes.

Photos of the airfield emerged online after the attack.

At the same time, in September of last year, the Ukrainian military intelligence conducted the special operation "Barynya". The scouts recruited a Russian career military officer.
