Макрон заявил, что в ближайшие недели европейские войска не будут направлены в Украину.

The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, has stated that European troops will not be present in Ukraine in the near future. He believes that the deployment of ground forces could only occur at a later stage, following a ceasefire.

This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Le Figaro.

According to the publication, the French president does not trust an agreement between the US and Russia regarding a ceasefire in Ukraine. He is convinced that the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin will primarily seek to humiliate Ukraine, particularly through its demilitarization.

On his way to Britain, prior to the summit of European leaders, Macron spoke about a Franco-British peace plan that envisions a month-long ceasefire for Ukraine.

He further expressed the view that soldiers from European countries would only be stationed in Ukraine at the next stage.

"In the coming weeks, there will be no European troops on Ukrainian territory... The question is how we use this time to try to achieve an acceptable ceasefire, with negotiations that will take several weeks, and then, after a peace agreement is signed, the deployment of troops," said the French president.

Macron also added that "we want peace," but "we" do not need it at any cost, without guarantees.

Recall that today, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the Trump administration would be ready to resume dialogue with Ukraine when Ukrainian officials are prepared for peace. He emphasized that first peace needs to be established, and only then can discussions about security guarantees take place.
