The German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius criticized the comments made by U.S. Vice President JD Vance regarding his country. Moreover, he termed them as "unacceptable."
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Sky News.
Pistorius pointed out that the U.S. Vice President compared German democracy to an authoritarian regime. Vance allegedly accused Germany of what he described as "raids against its own citizens for posting anti-feminist comments."
"This is unacceptable... This is not the democracy I see every day in parliament. In our democracy, every opinion has a voice," said Pistorius.
The minister added that democracy does not mean that a "noisy minority" is automatically right.
"I am happy to live in Europe, where democracy is protected from internal and external enemies," said Pistorius.
Recall that U.S. Vice President JD Vance spoke today, February 14, at the 2025 Munich Security Conference. In his speech, he indirectly mentioned Ukraine, primarily focusing on criticizing European partners.
