It is possible that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban initiated telephone talks with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin at the request of the 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump.
Political expert Taras Zahorodny shared this information in a comment to the Youtube channel RBC-Ukraine.
Zahorodny explained that the call was made to check whether "the client is ready for the 'opening'," but judging by Orban's own reaction, the talks were not successful, as Putin cannot back down from his personally stated demands to end the full-scale war.
"We are returning to the trap in which Russia itself has fallen. Putin has announced demands to Ukraine and the West that cannot be fulfilled. He continues to insist on demilitarization, the rights of Russian speakers, that Ukraine must leave Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, and only after that will he begin to cease fire. This will never happen," the expert added.
According to the expert, another obstacle for the dictator is his unwillingness to recognize the Ukrainian government as legitimate.
"He wants international agreements. He wants an official signature from the Americans because he does not recognize the Ukrainian government as legitimate. They have trapped themselves," Zahorodny explained.
Yesterday, December 11, the dictator Putin and the head of the Hungarian government held telephone talks. According to Russian media, their discussions were initiated by Orban. During the dialogue, the dictator and the prime minister discussed, among other things, the war in Ukraine. The Kremlin leader complained to Orban about Kiev's "destructive line," which allegedly makes a peaceful resolution impossible.
Commenting on Orban's call to Putin, President Vladimir Zelensky called it a game for his own image.
