On Thursday, December 12, U.S. President Joe Biden will announce a new military aid package for Ukraine. This will include, among other things, air defense systems and artillery.
According to RBK-Ukraine, White House Communications Advisor John Kirby made this statement during a briefing.
"Today the president will announce a new aid package for Ukraine. We will provide air defense systems, artillery, drones, and military vehicles," Kirby said.
He noted that this will be the 72nd aid package for Ukraine from the U.S.
Recall that on December 7, the administration of President Joe Biden announced a new defense aid package for Ukraine amounting to $988 million.
In November, the Pentagon noted that the department would send weapon shipments to Ukraine weekly. This is necessary to ensure the remaining aid to Kyiv from Washington is allocated in time.
Additionally, Pentagon spokesperson Patrick Ryder mentioned that after Congress approved $60 billion in aid for Ukraine in April 2024, the U.S. has delivered 83% of the promised ammunition and 67% of air defense resources to the Ukrainian side.
