U.S. President Joe Biden will hold talks with leaders of the "Group of Seven" tomorrow, December 13. The main topic of discussion will be support for Ukraine.
This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing a briefing from White House Communications Advisor John Kirby.
As Kirby noted, the discussions among the G7 leaders will take place in an online format.
"They will discuss a range of issues regarding our joint support for Ukraine," he added.
At the same time, Kirby did not specify which particular topics the leaders would address. He only reminded that the talks will occur after the U.S. decision to allocate a $20 billion loan for Ukraine.
Recall that on December 10, the U.S. Department of the Treasury announced the allocation of a $20 billion loan for Ukraine. This will be repaid using income from frozen Russian assets.
Thus, the funds have been directed to the Financial Intermediation Fund to facilitate resource mobilization for investing in the strengthening of Ukraine, through which they will be made available to Ukraine.
This assistance represents the U.S. contribution to a $50 billion loan for Ukraine from the "Group of Seven."
