At the beginning of November 2024, forecasters predict a certain decrease in atmospheric pressure and the arrival of atmospheric fronts from the north and northwest to the territory of Ukraine.
This was stated by the meteorologist of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center Natalia Ptukha in a comment to RBK-Ukraine.
According to the expert, in the near future, weather without precipitation will prevail in Ukraine (in most regions), with nighttime temperatures ranging from 2 to 10 degrees Celsius.
Daytime air temperatures may reach 9-14°C (in some areas, even 18 degrees above zero).
Meanwhile, starting Thursday, October 31, light rain is possible across almost the entire territory of Ukraine (except for the southern part).
"However, they will be quite localized. There will be more of that autumn cloudiness," Ptukha clarified.
She explained that during this period, the synoptic situation will begin to change.
"Currently, gradually, over the course of this week, the temperature (during the day, - Ed.) will decrease slightly. If today it is still up to +15, then later, on average, in the northern and western regions - during the daytime it will already be 11-12... From the weekend - 8-9 degrees above zero," the expert reported.
At the same time, nighttime temperatures in Ukraine (except for the west and Crimea) are likely to drop to 0-5 degrees Celsius.
"If we are currently predominantly influenced by a high-pressure system, then in the last days of October and the first days of November, the strong influence of the anticyclone will not be present," the meteorologist explained.
According to her, there will be "a certain decrease in atmospheric pressure and the arrival of atmospheric fronts from the north and northwest."
The expert specified that on October 30 and 31, as well as November 1, this will still be "not very pronounced, even with 'breaks'."
"November, in principle, begins (on the evening of the 1st, - Ed.) with these atmospheric fronts from the northwest... A more noticeable drop in temperature... Starting from November 2, atmospheric fronts will be more pronounced," she noted.
According to preliminary forecasts, until November 4 inclusive, "atmospheric fronts may still influence the territory of Ukraine."
"And starting from November 5, we expect high-pressure systems again. And the weather will predominantly be without precipitation ... Of course, the situation will still be clarified... But autumn weather will be fully felt starting in November," Ptukha added.
In conclusion, she mentioned that mixed precipitation (wet snow) is likely to occur soon only in the northeastern regions, according to current calculations.
"Of course, the situation may change. However, mixed-phase precipitation may already occur in northeastern Ukraine (Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv regions)," the meteorologist summarized.
According to the brief climatic characteristics of November released by the press service of the Ukrhydrometcenter on Facebook, the last month of autumn is a time of pre-winter, which begins after the average daily temperature drops below +5°C (mainly in the first decade of November).
Analyzing climatic conditions in November over past years (long-term weather patterns in November in Ukraine), meteorologists identified the following data:
According to the preliminary forecast by experts, during November 2024, it is possible:
